River Hamble Games
Saturday 18th June
AV SUP Club are delighted to be supporting this event once again.
The River Hamble Games is a one day sporting extravaganza held on the River Hamble in Hampshire. Teams and individuals are invited to take part in sailing, swimming, kayaking, rowing, running and SUP!
The SUP Main Distance Medal race
This will be a long distance race, consisting of a 5/6mile race lasting 1-1.5 hours. All entries should be made ahead of the event via the online registration form and competitors are required to have their own boards to participate.
There will be two groups, depending on the type of board you have: ‘Fun’ boards (surf board shape, 12′ and under) and ‘Race/Touring’ of 12’6″ or 14′ length. The Main Distance Medal race will have male and female categories across the following age groups:
- Junior (12-16 years)
- Senior (17-39 years)
- Veteran (40 years and over)
The novice sprint race
The Novice/Fun race is hosted as a ‘give it a go’ event. Maybe you’ve seen people paddling down rivers and fancied trying this increasingly popular sport – here’s a chance for you to experience what it’s like! Starting immediately after the Main race, the Novice/Fun competitors will paddle out and back along the same route though of a shorter distance and with the same categories as the Main race.
Each category winner will receive a free BSUPA lesson courtesy of AV SUP School.
