SUP: Inaugural sportscotland Sea Kayak and SUP Symposium

sportscotland is excited to announce a brand new event happening this summer. Two of Scotland’s flagship national centres: Cumbrae and Glenmore Lodge, are working together to deliver the UK’s first two-day Sea Kayak and SUP Symposium.

The event will form part of Cumbrae’s 40th anniversary celebration and will recognise the part that Cumbrae has played in shaping sea kayaking in Scotland in the past. It will also look ‘to the future’ and explore the next chapter in sea kayaking and SUP.

Paddlesports has been voted the fastest growing water-sport in the UK for the fourth year running and both national centres have been at the heart of these developments within Scotland. This will be a celebration of Sea Kayaking and SUP bringing together both in one event that will bring an exciting mix of workshops, talks and demos:

• Two days of coaching and performance clinics by Cumbrae and Glenmore Lodge instructors, looking at crossings, rock hopping, safety & rescue, SUP and much more!
• Guest coaches include: Sam Dean, Caroline Carr, Owen Burson, Ben Longhurst, Gordon Brown, Calum Mckerral, Zoe Newsam, Matt Haydock.
• Leading manufacturers will be present on the day.

Cumbrae’s location is perfect for a range of paddlesports (and it’s only one hour from Glasgow!) so we hope you can join us for what’s shaping up to be a special weekend!
