Hundreds of paddlers in fluorescent fancy dress will be lighting up the UK’s lakes and waterways this summer to raise funds for children with mental health issues.
Paddle Out LOUD is a series of unforgettable fancy-dress paddle events across the UK. Participants will be paddling SUP boards, kayaks canoes – or anything that floats! – to raise funds for surf therapy charity The Wave Project.
The charity runs award-winning courses that help children avoid serious mental health issues through surfing and mentoring.
Registration has now opened the Paddle Out LOUD event, with paddles taking place in England, Scotland and Wales.
The locations of Paddle Out LOUD events are:
Isle of Wight
Cuckmere, East Sussex
St Andrews, Fife
Scarborough, North Yorkshire.
Paddle Out LOUD coordinator Corinne Jones said:
“It’s fundraising events like Paddle Out Loud that make it possible for the Wave Project to help change the lives of many young adults and children with a mental health issue.
“Paddle Out Loud is not a race, it’s a fun, family friendly event that is open to everyone. It’s a great team bonding day out and a way to get friends or colleagues together for a day of fancy dress fun on the water.”
